It certainly does go against sound judicial policy to punish a man before he is convicted and to proclaim the guilt of an accused outside of his pending criminal trial is in violation of local and international laws of presumption of innocence.

Police, lawyers and even ordinary people in the street know about the right to silence which is a non derogable age old law, so who is Judge Erasmus to engage and participate in the derogation of such laws?
