Joan Johnson. Simon's mother.

Joan was born 10th April 1914 at Upton on Severn.

Joan grew up on the farm in Worcester before moving to London.

Joan at the Cedars, our family farm in Worcester, before the Second World War.

The Towers, Joan's home in Chelsea where she lived with her parents.

Joan worked for the Turkish Embassy in London for 8 years.

Joan traveled to the Union of South Africa on her British passport.

The silver cup is Joan's christening mug and some of her things she brought to South Africa from England.

A note on the back of this photo dates Joan's teddy bear back to 1917.

An old photograph of Joan and her mother in front of the South West Prospect of the City of Worcester dated 1732. My mother liked collecting nice things.

What most marked Joan was her great love for animals.
